LERONA — John Dale Ramsay, 88, of Ivy Road, Lerona, died peacefully Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born October 5, 1928 in Cadiz, OH, he was the son of the late John and Mabel Campbell Ramsay.
John loved the Lord and he along with his wife, traveled across the country evangelizing and singing for the most of his life. He was the former pastor for 12 years at the Rocky Mount Community Church in Pipestem. John was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Princeton.
John and his wife had an upholstery & drapery business for 34 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one sister, Ruth Willis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Martha Ann Fritchley Ramsay; One son: John W. Ramsay & his wife Audrea of North Tazewell, VA; One daughter: Debi I. Beachy & husband Sean, of Grantsville, MD; Five grandchildren: Ryan, Reagyn and Ryleigh Ramsay and Evan and Ella Beachy; One sister: Irene Schrader & husband Don of Anderson, IN.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of John Ramsay will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from The First Baptist Church, 1116 Mercer Street with Dr. David Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in the Crews Cemetery in Lerona.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 P. M. at the funeral home and one prior hour to the services at the church.
