NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Jimmy Carl Boothe, age 80 of the Baptist Valley community of North Tazewell, VA died Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA, following a long illness.
Born June 24, 1936 at Caretta, WV, he was a son of the late William Jasper Boothe and Rebecca Brown Boothe. He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA, working 25 years at Bishop and retired from Olga Coal Company of Caretta and Coalwood, WV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Boothe; brothers, William "Bill" Jasper Boothe, Jr., Garson Boothe, Teddy Boothe, and an infant brother, Joseph Patton Boothe; one sister, Sadie Boothe Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Glover Boothe; sons, Thomas Boothe and wife, Kala and Jerry Boothe and wife, Sharon; daughter, Debbie Boothe; brother, Donald Boothe and wife, Mary; sister, Bessie Boothe Holmes; grandchildren, Mason Boothe, Damon Boothe, Melissa Quesenberry Ramey and husband, Robert, Chad Quesenberry and wife, Erin, and Katrina Boothe; great grandchildren, Tyler Ramey, Shayla Ramey, Shawn Quesenberry, and Kasey Quesenberry; sister in law and brother in law, Imogene and Harry Summers; sister in law, Becky Boothe; a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 AM -1 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM with the Reverend Kenny Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers are Thomas Boothe, Robert Ramey, Bobby Pennington, Charlie Cook, Ray Glover, Sheriff Brian Hieatt, Frank Kimble, and Donnie Pennington. Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Ramey, Detective Mike Hall, J.C. Lambert, and Paul Sebo.
