PRINCETON — Jerry Benton White, 69, of Princeton passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born March 25, 1947 in Athens he was the son of the late Virginia Mae White Seal Knapp and John Edward Seal (who raised him).
Jerry enjoyed mixing mud for the stone and brick masons he worked with, mowing for family and friends, and constructing model cars. He also enjoyed watching western movies and listening to music. His nicknames were Road Runner and Hot Rod and his CB handle was Mud Man. Jerry loved his family very much.
Survivors include four sisters, Lena Durham and husband John, Janie Hazelwood and husband Robert, Mary Danieley (with whom he made his home), and Princess Walton and husband Russell all of Princeton; one uncle, Jasper White of Athens; two nieces; three nephews; two great nephews; one great niece; two special friends Charles Junior Mullins and Kenny Keller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Lacy Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at the White Family Cemetery, Pisgah Rd., Princeton. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Hazelwood, Larry Hazelwood, Johnathan Seal, Russell Walton, and David Ferguson. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Thursday.
