COALWOOD — Jennifer Lea Phillips, 62, of Coalwood, WV, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Welch Community Hospital, in Welch, WV, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born December 13, 1954 in Welch, WV she was the daughter of Reba Ruth Compton Bolt and the late William Orba Bolt. She was a graduate of Big Creek High School. She was a secretary for the McDowell County Board of Education for 29 years; and at the time of her death, she was the secretary for Fall River Elementary School. She was well known for her kindness to others and her love for her family. She was out going and never met a stranger; she was a joy to be around. Her philosophy in life was to live every moment, laugh every day and love beyond words.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by, her husband, Kenneth Phillips, and one brother, Steven Bolt.
Survivors include, one daughter, Kristee Leigh Phillips and companion Dean Richardson of Coalwood, WV, one son, Kenneth Matthew Phillips and wife Kayla of Bluewell, WV; grandchildren, Derek Stamper, Savannah Phillips, Tyler Christian, Payton and Emalee Phillips; two sisters, Debbie Bowman and husband Tim of Beckley, WV, Anita Swearingen Bolt of Green River, WY.
Memorial services will be conducted, Monday, April 17, 2017 at 1 P.M. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, WV, with Rev. Joe Moore officiating. It was her wish to be cremated and her family has honored her wish. Friends may call Monday, April 17, 2017 from Noon till 1 P.M. at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, WV.
