Jena Malaine's Story
HIGH POINT, N.C. — Jena Malaine Morris Johnson, 64, of High Point, NC, formerly of Bluefield, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at her residence.
Born October 21, 1952 in Bluefield she was the daughter of James E. Morris, Sr. of High Point, NC and the late Helena Robinson Morris. She was a graduate of Bluefield High School and formerly worked in retail sales.
Jena was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church in Bluefield and formerly served on the Usher Board of the church. She was a true caregiver and homemaker that loved her family and friends. She wanted everyone to be happy, always putting others above herself. She had been a resident of High Pont since 2014 moving there from Bluefield.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, James E. Morris, Jr.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of forty five years, Jeffrey L. Johnson of High Point; two daughters, Tamara Johnson-Sparks and husband Raeford and Tonya Johnson-Tanks and husband Justin, all of High Point; one grandchild, Taelyn Sparks of High Point; one sister, Teresa Morris of High Point; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bluefield with Reverend William R. Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Littlesburg Road, Bluefield. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the church from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Saturday.
