PRINCETON James Herbert White was born April 7, 1917 and passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Christian Care Rest Home, Winfrey Lane in Princeton, WV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Virginia Byrd White, his parents Mable and James Ballard White, four sisters Phyllis Rodden, Doris L Davis, Lucille Lusk and infant sister Jenny Lou White.
He is survived by a stepson, William Bret Byrd and wife Sharon of Fredrick, MD; Two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews; Sister-in-law, Alice Winfrey Brookman of Bristol, TN; He is also survived by a special niece, Mary Feuchtenberger of Princeton, WV who attended to many of his needs.
Herbert was raised in Princeton, WV where he graduated from high school. His church was extremely important to him and he was a faithful member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church. He is a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He worked most of his life for the Virginian Railroad. In addition to his church work, he was an avid gardener and, in his younger days, enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of James H. White will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors John King and Jim Nofsinger officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.

The men of the church will serve as pallbearers.
