IAEGER — Jack Douglas Addair, Sr., 74 of Iaeger, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Welch Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Jack was born June 16, 1942 in Grapevine, WV, a son of the late John H. and Ira Hooker Addair. He attended McDowell County Schools and was a graduate of Iaeger High School, Class of 1959. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, a strong supporter of the POW/MIA Veterans and a member of the American Legion. He was a carpenter, musician, a builder and restorer of guitars and other stringed instruments.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by brother Robert G. Addair, niece Michelle Vinciguerra, and former wife and friend, Lena (Mickey) Addair.
Survivors include one son, Jack Douglas Addair, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Stephens, Perryton, TX, grandchildren, Kenneth Stephens, Kolton Stephens and Kassidy Stephens of Perryton, TX;
brother, Joseph Addair and wife Gail of Bandon, OR; sisters, Mildred Murensky of Lakewood, CO, Joyce Vinciguerra of Ashland, KY, Linda Perdue and husband Richard of Roanoke, VA and Wanda Crawford of Huntington, WV; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A memorial service and inurnment will be held at the Riffe Cemetery on Garland Mountain at a future date to be announced.
