Irene Virginia's Story
PRINCETON — Irene Virginia England Lambert, 78, of Princeton, passed away, Saturday, January 14, 2017 following a long battle with cancer.
Born February 27, 1938 in Maitland, WV; she is a daughter of the late George Edward Burks and the late Dora Belcher Burks.
Irene loved the outdoors, working in her flower garden, fishing, and watching her birds, reading and cooking. She was a member of the Church of God AWA Association.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Eldridge England; a baby, Steven England; a sister, Judy Hughes, and a granddaughter, Crissy Richelle Griffey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Billy R. Lambert; son, Walton L. England and wife, Patty of Princeton; daughter, Sharon Hanshaw and husband, Jim of Green Valley; daughter, Darlene Griffey and husband, Gerry of Bristol, TN; daughter, Dianne S. Terry of Princeton; son, Keith England of Jacksonville, NC; son, Jerry Edward England and wife, Lolita of North Tazewell, VA; and daughter, Heather Tignor and husband, Donnie of Princeton; a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Fairley Burks and wife, Sandra of Princeton and Tommy Burks of Bluefield; three sisters, Edna Nierman of Columbus, OH, Teresa Anderson of Virginia Beach, VA, and JoAnn Laiplly and husband, Ray of Bucyrus, Ohio; her furry friend, Trixie; extended family and a host of friends.
A celebration of Irene's life will be held from 1:00PM until 3:00PM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton.
