PRINCETON - Herman Frederick Munsey, 90, of Princeton went to receive his Heavenly reward on Thursday, January 5, 2017. Born June 8, 1926 in Mercer County he was the son of the late Walter Munsey, Sr. and Helen Wallace Munsey.
Mr. Munsey was a lifelong resident of Mercer County. He attended Fairview Christian Community Church in Princeton. He was a former brick mason, member of the UMWA and retired from Eastern Coal Company where he worked as a miner. He enjoyed dancing, gardening, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Watkins Munsey; four brothers, Carl Munsey, Cecil Munsey, Ernest Munsey and Billy Munsey and one sister, Hazel Pizzini.
Herman will be sadly missed but his memory cherished forever by his daughters, Donna Osborne and husband John of Statesville, NC and Tammy Brown and husband Rodney of Lerona; three grandchildren, April Viney and Mike of Statesville, NC, Derrick Bailey and Erin of Midway Park, NC and Christie Brown of Princeton; four great grandchildren, Landyn, Alyssa, Emily and Brooklynn Bailey all of Midway Park, NC; two brothers, Ralph Munsey, Sr. and Ruby of Montcalm and Walter Munsey, Jr. of Beckley and special friend Mattie Marino and family of Princeton.
A celebration of Herman's life will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell.
Friends may visit with the family from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, January 8 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
