Helen's Story

Helen Jones Blankenship, 71, of Skeens Lane, Princeton, died Sunday,
May 7, 2017 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born September 25, 1945 in Hatcher Hollow , she was the daughter of the late Samuel Hermon and Mary Viola Hazelwood Nelson.
Helen was a beloved wife and mother who loved the Lord. A hard worker, she retired from Lowes with 25 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Jones, her second husband, William E. "Bill" Blankenship and seven brothers.
She is survived by three daughters: Cynthia Hall & husband Rodney, Sherri Taylor & husband Edward, both of Princeton; Bryanna Taylor & husband Dennis of Bluefield; Siblings: Larry D. Nelson & wife Peggy, Dianna Lusk and Hilda Archomboult & husband Weldon of Cheesy Creek; One-half brother: James Lee Thomas of Princeton; Grandchildren: Devin, Tyler, Amber and Chasidy Shockley,
Stephanie Kinser & husband Donnie all of Bluefield, Terry Gilley & wife Angie of West Hamlin,
Nick Gilley & wife Kim and Crystal Tracy & husband Bobby and Nevaeh all of Princeton; Step-grandchildren: Katelyn, Courtney & Robert Tracy all of Princeton, Josh Chajnicki & wife Crystal, Jonathon Chajnicki & wife Tiffany and Eddie Chajnicki & wife Virla all of Hamlin; Thirty-two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., May 13, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Larry White & Ryan Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in the Elgood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
