BRUSHFORK — Harry Anderson, 92, of Brushfork, WV, formerly of Rolfe and Crumpler, died peacefully Friday, March 10, 2017 at Carilion New River Valley Hospital In Radford, Va. Born February 23, 1925 he was the son of the late Paul and Rosa Anderson.
Harry was a life long member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Powhatan, WV. He retired from Eastern Associated Coal Company after 42 years of service. Harry was a loving father, grandfather and was a resident of McDowell County most of his life.
Other than his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Rose Larry Anderson. Second wife, Irene Hall Lusk Anderson. Three brothers, Dominic, Joe and Frankie Anderson and two sisters, Mary Compaleo and Gina McCann.
Survivors include: sons, Harry Paul Anderson and wife Tina of Baton Rouge, VA, and John Anderson and wife Teresa of Crumpler, WV. Two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Anderson of Crumpler and Garrett Anderson of Baton Rouge. One brother, Johnny Anderson and wife Jackie of Bristol, TN. Sister-in-law Claudine Mitchem and husband Harry of Brushfork, WV. Sister-in-law Reba Anderson of Bristol, TN. Loving caregivers: Rebecca Thomas, Kelsey Mitchem, Melinda Auton, Mary Ellen Heath and Virgie Lafferty. Also, a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11: AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Powhatan, WV, with Celebrant Father Gregg Lyttle. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, WV.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM at Widener Funeral Home in Northfork, WV.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are; Jim Widener, Teddy Watkins and Garrett Anderson.
