Goldie May's Story

Goldie May Roark Hamm "Maw Maw Honey", 82, passed away January 26, 2017 in Tazewell, VA. Born in Anawalt, WV, September 5, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Lundy Roark and Pansy Mitchem Roark.
Goldie was a 65 year resident of Abbs Valley, VA and loved working with the Abbs Valley Boissevain Fire Department Lady's Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and devoted to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Onnie E. Hamm.
Survivors include five daughters: Tammy Nogosky and husband Tim of Narrows, VA, Elizabeth Brady and husband Robert of Abbs Valley, VA, Connie Green of Abbs Valley, VA, Patty Hale of Bluefield, VA and Judy Rishel of Roanoke, VA; one son Kenneth Hamm of Stanley, NC; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January, 30, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, VA with Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Hamm Family Cemetery in Abbs Valley, VA. Pallbearers will be Greg Hamm, Jason Green, Timmy Brooks, Sherman Green, John Sinkford, Randy Trivitt, Nathan Hale, Gorge Hale, Robert Brady and Randy Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Chandler Russell, Jacob Brooks, Donovan Trivitt, Gabe Buckles and Caleb Buckles.
