RICH CREEK, Va. ? Gladys Marie Sears, 74 of Rich Creek, went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home Wednesday January 4, 2017. Born December 25, 1942 at Hugheston, WV she was the daughter of the late Henry W. Withrow and Freda Tucker Withrow Buckner, and step-daughter of Haymond Otis Buckner.
Gladys was a member of United We Stand Ministries, and was of the Apostolic Faith, she was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator with call of KG4HWM.
In addition to her parents and stepfather she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul D.R. Miller, Sr., son-in-law, Michael D. Hazelwood, brothers, Earl and Rhondes Withrow and Paul Joseph Buckner.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lester D. Sears, her seven children: Paul D.R. Miller, Jr and wife Jody of Waldorf, MD, Rick Miller and wife Karen of Berea, KY, Erlonda Miller Hunter and husband PeeWee of Elgood, WV, Greg Miller and wife Dorie of Burlington, NC, Theresa Miller Salyer and husband Nelson of Castlewood, VA, Lester R Sears of Nashville, TN, and Tamera Green and husband Ricky of Rich Creek, VA. She is also survived by brothers and sisters: Ella Mae Comer and husband Charles, Jimmy Withrow, Carmel Campbell and husband Roger, Diana Snyder and husband David, Jabo Buckner and wife Pam, Mark Buckner and wife Judy, Ray Buckner, Debbie Buckner, Mary Sue Wolf and husband Doug, Mildred Joyce Edwards and husband Roy; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV with Pastor Ricky Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rich Creek, VA.
Friends may call from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Friday January 6, at the funeral home.
Paul Miller III, Matthew Miller, Jonathan Salyer, Michael Paul Hazelwood, Jordan Green, Josh Sears, and Caison Faircloth will serve as pallbearers.
