Gladys Potter age 88, of Cedar Bluff, VA passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 in Lebanon, Virginia following a brief illness. She was born August 14, 1928 in McDowell County, VA. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Vance and Patsy Davis Vance. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church and she loved working in the yard with her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by four sons, Elmer Hurley of Elizabethton, TN, Jack Hurley of Coeburn, VA, Gerald Hurley of Wardell, VA, Frankie Hurley of Richlands, VA; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson; one brother, Otis Vance of Hurley, VA; one sister, Glenna Keaton of Sophia, NC.
The family will receive friends after 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday with Rev. Carl Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
