Gladys Mitchem Cochran, age 94 of North Tazewell, VA was called into the Lord's presence on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. Born July 15, 1923 in McDowell County, WV she was a daughter of the late Carl and Nora Mitchem. Gladys was a faithful member of the New Covenant Fellowship, formerly the Dial Rock Church of God. While she will be greatly missed, there will be a grand reunion with those that have preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, the reunion will include her husband, Leonard L. Cochran; son, Larry Dean Cochran; son-in-law, James Aldie Delp. Also preceding her were three sisters, Bertie Mitchem Blankenship, Donna Mitchem Crouse and Ruth Mitchem Kiser; three brothers, Buster Mitchem, Doug Mitchem and Junior Mitchem.
Survivors include one sister, Mildred Mitchem Thomas of Fayetteville, NC; one son, Tracy L. Cochran and wife, Hilda of Bluefield, VA; two daughters, Patricia Cochran Delp of Squire, WV and Darlene Cochran Egan and husband, Ken of Barboursville, WV; daughter-in-law, Cindy Cochran; six grandsons, Kevin Cochran, Tim Cochran, Christopher Delp, Scott Cochran, Bradley Cochran and Matthew Egan; seven great-grandchildren, Mark Leatherwood, Kayla Leatherwood, Breanna Cochran, Riley Chumbly, Jonah Egan, Roman Cochran and Eli Egan; Four great-great grandchildren; special friends, Gala DeFriece, Ruth and Wayne White; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Dave Webb officiating assisted by Wayne White. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 16, 2017.
