NORTHFORK — Geraldine Edwards, 80, of Northfork, WV, formerly of New York, went to her Heavenly Home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 19, 2017. Born November 4, 1936 in Emporia, VA, she was the daughter of the late Isaiah DeLotach and Louise Epps.
Geraldine was a was a high school graduate and became a dedicated and caring CNA for 20 years. She was a long time member of the Bethel Church of God in Christ in NY. Geraldine loved the Lord and was with the Abundant Life Ministries in Maybeury, WV, and was known as Mother Edwards in the Church. She served as a foster grandmother at Kimball Elementary for 5 years. Aside from her great sense of style and fashion, she was also known for her delicious cooking and famous sweet potato pie. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She touched the lives of many and will be missed by all that knew her.
Other than her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by one son Carl Edwards, one daughter Claudia Edwards, one granddaughter Crystal Edwards and one great-granddaughter Star'Asia Lewis.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her children: Priscilla (Ronald) Hopkins of WV, Semmery Edwards of NY, Saundra Pegram of SC, Mable Edwards of NY, Marion Edwards of NC, Lawrence Edwards of NC, David Edwards of VA, Gwendolyn Edwards of WV, John Edwards of NY, Daryl Edwards of NY, and Ashley Hill of Las Vegas, NV. Geraldine was also blessed with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11: AM at the Mount Ebenezer Baptist Church in Algoma, WV with Pastor Roger Walton and Pastor Dana Walton officiating. Entombment will follow at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Route 20 Bluefield, WV. Friends may call from 10:AM until the hour of service. Pallbearers and flower bearers will be family and friends.
