Frances Ann Spencer, 80, of Bluefield, VA died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at her residence.
Born September 4, 1936 in Bluefield she was the daughter of the late Carl Dye and Elizabeth Pearman Dye. She was a member of the Greenview United Methodist Church in Green Valley and was a strong supporter of the Green Valley Volunteer Fire Department. Frances was an avid quilter formerly judging various venues throughout the years. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Eugene Spencer; and one niece, Susan Cumbow.
Survivors include one son, David Lee Spencer and wife Angela of Bluefield, VA; two granddaughters, Danielle Marie Metz and husband Andrew of Winfield, WV and Jessica Anne Spencer and companion Zachary Thornhill of Bluefield; four great grandchildren, Gabriel Spencer, Ava Metz, Allyana Thornhill, and Brooklyn Thornhill; one sister, Mary Cumbow and husband Richard of Green Valley; one brother, Don Dye and wife Dada of Bluefield; and lifelong best friend, Gwenn Gearheart of Radford, VA.
In keeping with Frances' wishes her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Bluefield First Church of the Nazarene in Bluefield, WV with Pastor Gary Jakes, Sr. officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the service hour on Friday.
