COALWOOD — Frances Jane Alger, 76, of Coalwood, WV, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, in Bluefield, WV.
Born May 15, 1940 in Cub creek, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hebert and Etta Lester Riffe. She was a resident of McDowell County the greater part of her life; she was a retired cook for the McDowell County Board of Education. She enjoyed raising money for St Jude Children's Research Hospital, and spending time with her grand babies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, one son, Jeffery "bad Hair" Alger, one brother, Edgar Riffe.
Survivors include, her husband, Frank Alger of the home, two sons, Greg Alger of Coalwood, WV, Tommy Alger and wife Patricia of Coalwood, WV, two daughters, Jennifer McLamb and husband Gary of Bladenboro, N.C., Patricia Osborne and husband Kevin of Perryville, MO., three sisters, Virgie Dicristafaro and husband Joe of Green Valley, WV, Ruth Lester and husband Doug of Huff Creek, WV, Maxine Bellomy of Coalwood, WV, two brothers, Teddy Riffe and wife Sandy of Hensley, WV, Britten Riffe of Welch-Pineville Rd; eight Grandchildren, and nine Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted, Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 11 A.M. from the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, WV, with Reverend Dennis Lester officiating, burial will follow at Steeles Community Cemetery in Huff Creek, WV.
Friends may call Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Fanning Funeral Home in Welch, WV.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
