Florence Coburn's Story
PRINCETON Florence Frances Coburn Wolfe Peterson, she was born in 1911 in Mercer County, WV, to Zellie and Jeremiah Coburn. Florence passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a toddler, Jimmy Wolfe, her eleven siblings and her first husband Perry "Pete" Wolfe then later husband Charles L. Peterson Jr.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie G. Peterson Winfield, husband Joe of Lawrenceville, VA., Carol F. Basham, husband Basil, Teddy S. Wolfe, wife Pat, and Nancy J. Belcher, husband Randy, all of Princeton, WV. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Charles A. (Tony) Peterson, wife Amanda and their children Brett, Hannah and Jack; Misty Basham-Leedy, husband Jeff Leedy and their children Aislinn and Katerina Leedy; Charity Wolfe Cooper, husband Scott and their children Hunter, Keira, and Barrett; Josh Basham, wife Jessica and their children Shaye, Zayne, and Schuylar Reggi; Jason Belcher, wife Amy and their children Jenna, Brooke, and Jake; Missy Wolfe Burns, husband Josh and their children Isabella, Lilly, and Georgia; and Heath Belcher, wife Joanna with their children Nate and Grace. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her passions were reading, gardening, flowers and traveling with Charles to the Carolina beaches and the Great Smoky Mountains. During her later years the care she received from her family was supplemented with several kind and caring companions and, finally, the compassionate staff at Loving Hands Adult Care.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Peterson will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Dan Moore officiating. Graveside services for the family will be held Thursday morning at Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton at 6 P.M. on Wednesday July 5th, until the service hour at the funeral home.
