GRAPEVINE, TX — Ethel Mae Moore was born November 12, 1921 in Princeton, WV to Roy Thornton and Bessie Mae (Dunn) Thornton and passed away March 13, 2017 in Grapevine, TX. During WWII, Ethel lived and worked in the shipyards as a riveter and acetylene cutter to assist the war effort. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Atteberry and husband Glenn; step-grandchildren, Chris Atteberry and Stephanie Wilkins; step-great-grandchildren, Grace and Amie Wilkins; sisters, Virginia Ruth (Thornton) Harry and Betty Lou (Thornton) McCombs; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy B. Thornton & Bessie Mae (Dunn) Thornton; sisters: Helen Marie (Thornton) Clark, Margaret Louise (Thornton) Wortz, Ruby Jean (Thornton) Graham; brothers, Roy Jr. Thornton & Harold Dean Thornton. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Williams Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be 10:30am Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Williams Memorial Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Garland Memorial Park.
