Ellis's Story

BLUEFIELD — Ellis F. Sult, 81, of Bluefield, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on March 10, 2017.
He was born in Crockett, Va. on October 25, 1935. He was the son of the late Straley and Hallie Sult.

He was preceded in death by his son in law, Keith Godwin, brother in law, Frank Tucker and Mother and Father in Law, Heath and Belle Semones.

He graduated from Rural Retreat High School in 1953. He started his life's work that summer for Va. State Highway Department. In 1956, he went to work for C. W. Wright Construction Company in Richmond, Va. In 1957, he started working in Roanoke, Va. for Appalachian Power Company and later transferred to Bluefield, WV. He retired after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61years, Elaine Sult. His five children, Denise and Mike Farmer, Jane Mustard, Joyce and Mike Raimando, Cathy Godwin and Joe and Sarah Sult.

Eight Grandsons and one Grand-daughter, Jason and Jennifer Farmer, Joshua Farmer and Shevona Toney, Travis Mustard, Brandon and Tiffany Mustard, Matthew and Tonya Mustard, Tanner, Rylan and Brady Sult. Granddaughter Shannon and Donnie Mrdjenovic. Four great grandchildren, Amelia Mustard and Donald, Lilly and Julian Mrdjenovic and Special Grand-dog, Frankie.

Also survived by one sister, Verna Fisher of Rural Retreat. Three sisters in law, Lorraine and Dickey Spraker, Pat and Bobby Cale and Nancy Tucker. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 14, 2017 at Mercer Funeral Home with Mr. Craig Hammond officiating.
The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

A graveside service will be held at West End Cemetery in Wytheville, Va. at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 15, 2017. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Sult's sister, Nancy Tucker, 1775 West Main Street, Wytheville, VA from Noon until 1:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bluefield Union Mission or Hospice Compassus in Princeton, W.V.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus, Dr. Rowvena Chambers, Kim Matzel, P.A. and Meloney Ponce, N.P. for all of their help over the last few months.
