MATOAKA Earl Roy Canaday, 77 of Clarks Gap Road, Matoaka, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his home. Born March 20, 1940 in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Earl Canaday and Ruth Copley Canaday.
Mr. Canaday was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired vending truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Canaday.
Left to cherish his memory include his companion of more than 20 years, Janie Thomas of the home; one sister, Carol Johnson and husband Robert of Minong, WI; one brother, Robert Canaday of Gates, NC; a sister-in-law, Joann Canaday of Black River Falls, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
