Earl C.'s Story
ELKTON, Md. — Earl C. "Pete" Cecil, 81 of Elkton, MD formerly of Princeton, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Elkton Transitional Care Center, Elkton, MD, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Princeton, WV on June 13, 1935, he was the son of the late Leo and Minnie (Hall) Cecil.
Mr. Cecil served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he began working as a carpenter. Over the years, he worked for many area builders.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing (trout), NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and feeding the squirrels.
Most of all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Blake Cecil, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his daughters: Cindy L. Willis and her husband Perry, and Sheila A. Bartow, all of North East, MD; his brother: Robert Cecil and his wife Ila of Odessa, DE; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Eugene Hazelwood officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Hall Cemetery on Hall's Ridge Road in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
