Dr. Gary's Story
ATHENS Dr. Gary C. Craft, 77, of Craft Road, Athens, died early Thursday morning, June 29, 2017 at his home with his wife by his side.
Born March 12, 1940 at Liverpool, OH, he was the son of the late Clifton Craft & Garnett Judd Craft.
Dr. Craft was a graduate of Ranger High School (Lincoln County), undergraduate work at Marshall University and his medical degree from WVU.
Dr. Craft practiced medicine for many years in Man, WV prior to moving to the Princeton area in 1981 where he established the Craft Medical Corporation on the Eads Mill Road near Princeton.
Dr. Craft loved practicing medicine, but more importantly, he loved his patients. Dr. Craft enjoyed his farm, working his orchard, gardening, taking walks in the woods and reading.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Martha Lee Dawson Craft, daughter Heather Craft & son Atif Algahtani both of Fairfax VA. Two sisters, Evelyn Smith & Patty Blankenship both of Barboursville, and a niece Michelle.
Services to celebrate the life of Dr. Gary Craft will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 2, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Jim Simmons officiating. Private burial will be held in the family cemetery on the farm.
