Douglas's Story

Douglas M. Brim, Sr. of 3844 White Oak Creek Road Athens, WV died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the age of 76 after a long battle of heart and health issues. Born in McComas, WV on November 8, 1940 he was the son of the late Beatrice East Brim and Joe Brim. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother Letha Brim, two sisters; Shelby Jean Brim and Brenda Brim, brothers; Ronald Brim, Danny (Hector) Brim and Rodney (Buck) Brim. Mr. Brim attended school in Matoaka and Lashmeet.
He retired from having his own body shop in Ohio for 30 years. When he was younger he attended the Methodist Church in Matoaka and in recent years as well.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Mary V. Brim; three children Lisa Watkins and husband Ronald of Somerset, OH, Lois Hardy and husband Del of Thornville, OH and Douglas M. Brim, Jr. (number one son) and wife Michelle of Thornville, OH; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Funeral services will be conducted 6:00 PM Friday, August 11, 2017, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor J.P. Mays officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour Friday.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the Somerset Cemetery in Somerset, OH. Pallbearers will be Ron and Tyler Watkins, Del and Hunter Hardy, Korey Casey, and Jeff Wise. Honorary pallbearers will be favorite cousin Randal East, Vincent Shorter, Skip Watterman and Jimmy Terry.
