Dorothy Gay Dye, age 86, of Cedar Bluff, VA passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Commonwealth Memory Care in Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Ms. Dye was born in Swords Creek, VA and was the daughter of the late Arch and Lucinda Sloan Jackson. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Cedar Bluff area. She was a member of Horton Ridge Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Darrell Dye; three sisters and three brothers. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Larry Dye and wife, Carolyn of Bristol VA
Freddie Dye of Richlands, VA
Kenny Dye and wife, Charlotte of Mooresville, NC
Danny Dye and wife, Margaret of Statesville, NC
Ten Grandchildren: Tammy Calloway, Kevin Dye, Chris Dye, Freddie Dye, Tiffany Ryder, Nicholas Dye, Brad Dye, Jessica Fritz, Heath Addison and Cody Addison.
Also surviving are fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services for Dorothy Gay Dye will be conducted on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands, with Rev. Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens, in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be: Kevin Dye, Chris Dye, Freddie Lee Dye, Heath Addison, Cody Addison and Nick Dye. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
