PRINCETON — Dolly Lorene Bitner Buchanan, 63, of Princeton died, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born November 21, 1953 in Peru, IN she was the daughter of the late Vern Edward Bitner and Ruth Nancy Stover Bitner. She was raised in Kokomo, IN and was of the Baptist faith.
Dolly was a former member of the Princeton Moose Lodge #1521. She had been a resident of Princeton since 1996 moving here from Waverly, OH.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Buchanan, Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy "T.L." Payne of Bluefield, WV and Carla Payne Rotenberry and husband Scott of Sevierville, TN; one son, John Thomas "J.J." Buchanan, Jr. and fiancee' Kristen Ruble of Grundy, VA; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Thomas Payne and Ashley Dawn Rotenberry and fiance' Michael Vest; two great grandchildren, Shyanne Rotenberry and Ariel Rotenberry; a host of friends; and six special feline companions.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital 6th floor Cancer Center and 4th floor ICU.
Funeral services will conducted at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Scott Rotenberry serving as Eulogist. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the service hour on Tuesday. In keeping with Dolly's wishes her body will be cremated following the service.
