KEGLEY David L. Ragan Sr., 88, of Golden Lane, Kegley, died Sunday afternoon, April 23, 2017 at Princeton Community Hospital with his family by his side.
Born August 13, 1928 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Edward Clay Ragan & Virginia Cecil Ragan.
Mr. Ragan was educated in Mercer County and a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army.
He was a former employee for WV Armature in Bluefield and a retired sales representative for Fairchild Corporation. While his health permitted, he enjoyed hunting & fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet Loretta Moses Ragan in 1987, along with a son, David L. Ragan Jr. and two siblings: Betty McNeil & Bobby Ragan.
Those left to cherish his memory, two loving daughters: Pamela Sue Arrington & husband Leslie, Karen Beth DeHart & husband Michael all of Kegley. Four grandchildren, David Lee Ragan, Amanda K. Arrington, Jessica A. Bradley & Kevin W. DeHart. Seven great grandchildren, Dillon, Morgan, Landon, Jayden, Zane, Eli & Brayden. Two siblings, Hazel Woolwine of Matoaka and Garland Ragan of CO. A host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor James Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with military honors given under the direction of the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 1:00PM until the service hour at the funeral home.
