Darvin Merell (D.C.) Conner, 73, of Princeton died Friday, April 28, 2017 at his residence.
Born July 16, 1943 in Floyd, VA he was the son of the late Herman Conner and Rita Moles Conner. He worked in auto parts with Montgomery Ward, Auto Supply, and ASCO for many years. D.C. was a member of the Greenview United Methodist Church. As a youth leader, he touched the lives of many young people. They often visited and received words of wisdom from him. He maintained those friendships through the years. He always taught them by being a good example of a Christian husband, dad, and friend. He was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandfather and always put his family first.
D.C. was compassionate, forgiving and had a good sense of humor. He taught his family to enjoy the little things in life and wanted them to be thankful for God's many blessings. His message of enjoying life and spreading a little love to those around you was important to him. He could light up a room with his humor and laughter. He never missed an opportunity to smile and laugh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin Conner Calo; and one brother, Doc Conner.
Survivors include his wife of fifty two years, Sharon Shields Conner of Princeton; one daughter, Rhonda Reedy and husband Ed of Thomasville, NC; three granddaughters, Lindsey, Chelsey, and Kinsley Reedy all of Thomasville, NC; one son-in-law, Chris Calo of Bluefield, VA and children, Nathan Conner, Moly Calo, and Haleigh McMillan; one sister-in-law, Kay Conner Casey of Radford, VA; and three nephews, Kevin, Keith, and Kris Conner all of Radford, VA.
In keeping with D.C.'s wishes his body will be cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Greenview United Methodist Church in Green Valley with Reverend Rick Chester officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Greenview United Methodist Church, 600 Blue Prince Road, Bluefield, WV 24701.
