PRINCETON — Darrell Glenn Taylor, 63, of Kelly's Tank Road, Princeton departed this life on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA.
Born October 14, 1953 in Pearisburg, VA he was the son of the late Ivory B. Taylor and Lillie Elizabeth Smith Taylor. He was a graduate of Park Central High School in Bluefield. Darrell was a member of the Saunders Grove Baptist Church at Kelly's Tank and in his younger years before becoming disabled he was the "Pop Man" on big days at the church.
Darrell loved basketball and was a score keeper when his health permitted. Darrell lived in Kelly's Tank all his life and loved all of his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Nelson and Brenda Carper; and four brothers, Terry Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Ivory Taylor, Jr., and Dale Taylor.
He leaves to cherish his memory, five sisters, Doris Symns and husband Tommy and Elizabeth Brown and husband Herman all of Kelly's Tank, Veronica Wilson and husband Curtis of Landover, MD, Michelle Meyer and husband Johnny of Cairo, Egypt, and Wanda Williams of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Vandy Taylor and wife Edith of Landover, MD and Ricky Freeman of Oxhill, MD; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Taylor of Kelly's Tank and Tijuanna Taylor of Alexandria, VA; one special sister-in-law, Carolyn Taylor; one aunt, Lena Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Saunders Grove Baptist Church at Kelly's Tank with Rev. Fred Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at the Kelly's Tank Community Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the church from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Saturday.
