CEDAR BLUFF, Va. — Colette Joan "Joanie" Stevenson, 58 of the Dry Fork community in Cedar Bluff, VA died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home.
Born February 12, 1959 in Buchanon County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Estella Bender Bright. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Joanie was an avid plastic canvas artist and crafter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jerri McCrosky; brothers, Larry Dale Bright and Phillip Eugene Bright; niece, Melissa Sue Bender; great nephew, Tyler Logan Davis.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Bill Stevenson; daughters, Cassie Horne and husband, Charles of Tazewell, VA and Judy Styers and husband, Brent of Bristolville, OH; brother, Junior Bright and wife, Phyllis of Chardon, OH; sisters, Stacy Shaffer and husband, Barry of Pierpont, OH, Nancy Bender and husband, Walter of Canton, OH, Donna Earls of Kingsville, OH; Betty Shreve and husband, Joe and Garnet Shreve all of New Lyme, OH; three grandchildren, Kyle Sly, C.J. Horne, and Clayton Horne.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Monday, March 6, 2017 at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with Casey Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Ward Cemetery at Pilgrims Knob in Buchanan County, VA.
