BLUEFIELD Cletus Wade Poole, 74, of Mourning Dove Road, Bluefield, WV, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Born, July 23, 1942, in Princeton, WV he was the oldest son of the late Cletus Calvin and Meredith Pettrey Poole.
Wade was a charter member of Maple View Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and Church Treasurer. He was also on the Church Board and a Board Trustee.
Wade was a veteran of the West Virginia Army National Guard. He retired from Pemco Corporation as a supervisor after 43 years of service. Wade was part of the chain crew for the Princeton Senior High School football team for close to 50 years. He was an avid sports fan for all sports, especially golf after his retirement.
Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Brenda Sproles Poole; Two sons: Chris Poole and Scott Poole and wife Tara all of Princeton; Two beautiful granddaughters whom he loved dearly, Raegan and Karsyn Poole of Princeton; Four brothers: Raymond Poole and wife Sandy of Princeton, Ernie Poole and wife Sharon of Spanishburg, John Poole and wife Debbie and Jerry Poole and wife Phyllis all of Princeton; Three sisters: Shirley Kemp and husband Lonnie of Pulaski, VA, Patsy Culbertson and Sharon Bailey and husband Roger, all of Princeton; Several nieces and nephews; A very special friend who he thought of like a son, Chris Belcher of Princeton.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Cletus Wade Poole will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at Maple View Church of Christ, 194 Robins Rest Road, Bluefield with Minister Buddy Goins officiating. Military honors will be provided by the WV Army National Guard Honor Guard. The family will honor Cletus request that he be cremated following the service. Friends may visit with the family Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until the service hour at the church.
