PRINCETON — Charles Wayne Belton, 78, of Princeton, died Friday, March 31, 2017. Born September 15, 1938 at Caretta, he was the son of the late Fred Belton and Elsie Jones Belton.
Mr. Belton was a graduate of Big Creek High School and was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Germany. He attended the First Church of God in Princeton. He retired from Overnite Transportation in Bluefield after 23 years of service. He played with the Rash Trio gospel group for many years and enjoyed playing many musical instruments and singing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Belton, Sr., Douglas Belton and Glen Belton; and one sister, Patsy Landon.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Deloris Pat Farmer Belton; two sons, Rick Belton and wife Regina of Hicksville, OH and Chuck Belton and wife Kathy of Leesburg, FL; one daughter, Annmarie Wall and husband Jimmy of Princeton; one sister, Nina Maynard and husband Charles of Glenwood; five grandchildren, Diana Lilly and husband Adam of Beckley, Brittany Keys and husband Patrick of Princeton, Charley Belton of Leesburg, FL, Adam Belton of Bedford, VA and Brooke Wall of Princeton; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Chloe Keys both of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel of the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Scott Hodge and Pastor Larry McCallister, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 3, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
