Carolyn (Carol) 78, formerly of Bluefield WV went to be with her Lord and savior on Wednesday March first. After a three week illness, her fight ended. She was surrounded by her daughters and went peacefully to join with her family in heaven. Carol was born March 30, 1938 in Wilco WV, she was the daughter of the late Margaret L. Perdue and late Kenneth Payne and step daughter to the late Ossie Perdue. She retired from Beltone Hearing Aid Service in 2000.
Carol loved life with family and friends. Known as a woman to always speak her mind, people loved that strength. A gifted chef in the kitchen, everyone enjoyed her creations. She loved to spend time watching VT football and yelling for her Hokies. The thing she looked most forward to was her vacations with family at Smith Mountain Lake.
She was involved in the Moose Lodge as well as the Elks in Bluefield for many years. She lived a wonderful life in Bluefield with many friends. Desiring to be closer to her children; Karen, Brenda, and granddaughter Shannon, she moved to Dublin in 2004.
Carol spent most of her time with daughter Brenda who had become essential to Carol in the last couple of years.
She is survived by daughters Karen Dantzler Stowers and husband Michael both of Rocky Mount, Va., Brenda Clevinger Dean and husband Steve of Radford Va., Granddaughter Shannon L. Cundiff and husband Jacob and three beautiful children, Aiden 9, Emmalyn 5 and Zoey 21/2. Brother, Chuck Perdue and wife Vickie of Abingdon. Stevie Perdue and wife Liz of High Point, NC, and one sister Dee Beresford and fiancé Steve Forehand of Alexandria Va. She will be missed by many wonderful nieces and nephews. She had a daughter Linda Louise Clevinger who passed in 2001 who greeted her at heavens' gate to bring her Mother home.
Service will be held this Saturday at the Woodlawn Memorial Garden Mausoleum located in Bluewell, WV. Chapel service will begin at 11 AM, Saturday March 4th.
