COVEL Carl James Roberts, 91, of Covel gained his angel wings on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in Princeton Community Hospital after a long battle with dementia. Born October 2, 1925 in Beartown he was the son of the late Jason and Vada Bailey Roberts.
Carl will be remembered for his love of people. He never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. He was a Wyoming County school bus driver for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He also drove a coal truck and did carpenter work.
Carl was a resident of the Wyoming Nursing and Rehab Center for three years. A special thanks for all the staff and Samantha Meadows, whom he loved as a daughter, his special friends, Astor Cook, Donna Lee Hurst and Ronnie "Cowboy" McMillan.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Loraine Lusk Roberts and a sister, Mabel Bailey.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Pamela Quesenberry and husband Ronnie of Bud; his son, Jimmy Roberts of Covel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Rowland H. Bailey Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Roberts and Pastor Rick Shrewsbury officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16 at the funeral home.
