Carl Millard Brown, Jr., 70, of Princeton, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Gainesville, GA. Born February 13, 1947 in Eckman, WV he was the son of the late Carl M. Brown, Sr. and Pauline Bowden Brown. Carl was a retired financial advisor with Metropolitan Financial Corporation in Monroe, NC. He was a 1965 graduate of Princeton High School and a 1968 graduate of Elon College. He previously attended the Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton and the Oakland Baptist Church in Monroe, NC. He was formerly active in numerous civic organizations while living in Monroe. He served in the U. S. Army West Virginia National Guard for 7 years.
In addition to his parent's one sister, June Bradbury, preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Paulette Collette and her husband David of Hoschton, GA; one son, Edward Carl Brown and wife Mary of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Carly Collette, Katie Collette, and Eli Collette; one sister, Sally Cantrell and husband Vince of Raysal, WV and two brothers, Sam Brown and wife Barbara of Bristol, VA and Jimmy Brown and wife Claudia of North Carolina. In keeping with his wishes there were no services and Carl was cremated. Carl was a friend to many, and was always willing to help those in need. He was a respected brother and beloved father to his daughter. Most importantly, he was born again and has the gift of everlasting life.
