Carl Isaac Armentrout, 66, of Broadway, VA, formerly of Princeton, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at Bellaire at Stone Port Assisted Living in Harrisonburg, VA. He was born June 10, 1951 in Elkins, WV to the late Sammy Jo Coburn and Lila Green Coburn.
Carl served in the U.S. Army for 29 years and retired from Command 22801 as an E-9 Sergeant Major, having served in Germany and Korea numerous times. Carl was a member of the Athens Baptist Church while he lived in Princeton.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Ann Cook Armentrout.
Survivors include his second wife, Debra Sue Surratt Armentrout; his sons, Michael and Kevin Armentrout; his daughters-in-law, Bobbi Jo and Sarah Armentrout; his grand children, Jacob, Tanner, Alexis, and Hannah Armentrout; and his siblings, sisters Karen Coburn Maclay and Sharon Doss; and brother-in-law Don Maclay.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Charles Drake officiating. Burial will follow at the Athens Cemetery with the Mercer County Veteran's Council conducting military graveside rites. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour on Thursday.
