HAVACO — Brian L. "Lee-Lee" Lewis, age 38, a resident of Havaco, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Welch Community Hospital.
He was born May 14, 1978, in Bluefield and the son of Madeleane E. "Mattie" and Ben Mitchell of Charleston and the late James Eaves.
He was a graduate of Mount View High School and a member of Havaco Temple Baptist Church. He was employed at McDonald's in Welch and formerly employed by the City of Keystone, Wal-Mart, Kroger's and Kmart stores. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and swimmer. For many years, he coached both football and basketball, always encouraging children to do their best. His passion was cooking and he was a meticulous barber.
In addition to his father, James, he was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley.
He leaves a lifetime of wonderful memories to his parents, Mattie and Ben; his daughter, E-Lonya Lewis; three sons, Keishawn Lewis, Kobe and Kenneth Brown Jr.; sisters, Marvetta (Harold) Lewis-Brown, Laquita (Edward) Lewis-Alexander of OH, Latasha (Ricco) Bonds, Latisha and Kidada Collins all of Welch, Carolyn Eaves and Brenda Brayboy of NC, Lisa Butler of FL, and Teressa Eaves of SC; brothers: Troy S. Lewis-Foster of Charleston, William Lewis and fiancee, Jillian Hatcher of VA, Aaron Hood of Welch, Marcus Ray of Northfork, Carl Eaves of TN and Scottie Eaves of VA; a host of nephews, nieces; cousins, many other relatives and a special friend, Lakeita Powell of Welch.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, at the Kimball Elementary School with the Reverend Kenneth L. Orr officiating, assisted by the Reverends, Jeffrey Allen and Earl Rogers. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Mausoleum, on Rt. 52, in Bluewell. Family and friends will serve as both pallbearers and flower bearers.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., until time of service.
