Billie Lee Crawford, age 87, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia passed away on June 25, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Tazewell, Virginia.
Mr. Crawford was born on June 12, 1930 in Tazewell County, Virginia to the late Vernie and Audrie Cox Crawford. Billie was an avid CB and Hamm radio operator. Mr. Crawford was a machinist and also worked as an inspector for the highway department. He was a graduate of Richlands High School and also attended Southwest Virginia Community College. Mr. Crawford was a United States Air Force veteran, having served in Korea.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Emma Jane Hale and her husband, Jim.
Those who remain to cherish his memory include: His sister: Wilma Matney and husband, Don of Cedar Bluff, Virginia. Several nephews, grandnephews, and grandnieces also survive.
Funeral services for Billie Lee Crawford will be conducted at 12 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with Dr. Marc Brooks and the Reverend Stafford Compton officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites. Pallbearers will be Mike Matney, Jason Hale, Tommy Hale, Jim Boyd, Dwayne Whited, Ron Tanner, and Bobby Hale.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
