PRINCETON — Betty Ann Harvey Pross, 90, of Princeton, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born December 12, 1926 in Gassaway, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles L. Harvey and Nannie Kate Caldwell Harvey.
Betty was a graduate of Princeton High School. She spent most of her years as a homemaker taking care of her loving family. She was a manager of several restaurants in Princeton and Roanoke, VA. Betty was also a personal home caregiver while residing in Roanoke. She was a member of Landmark Church of God in Princeton. Betty returned to Princeton in 2007, moving here from Roanoke.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, August A. "Gus" Pross; daughter, Judith Arlene Pettrey; granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Pettrey; grandson, Stephen Wayne Stroupe; brother, Charles L. Harvey; and the father of her children, Delmer "Red" Pettrey.
She is survived by one son, Mike Pettrey and wife Sarah of Burnt Chimney, VA; two daughters, Norrita Ann Pettrey and Karen Sue Pettrey, both of Princeton; six grandchildren, Lisa Pettrey, Ronald Stroupe and wife Angie, Keith Stroupe, Melissa Duncan Stanton and husband Scott, John Cooper and wife Ashley, and Jill Richmond Tieman and husband Shane; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon W. Harvey and wife Thelma of Annapolis, MD, and Ronnie Harvey of Princeton; two sisters, Jerri Cahill of Princeton, and Doris Copeland of Belmont, NC; and sister-in-law, Jerlene Harvey of Princeton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Scott Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at the funeral home.
