FALLS MILLS, Va. — B. Gene King, 76, of Falls Mills, VA, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. He was born in McComas, WV and was the son of the late Tracy and Alma Conner King.
Gene proudly served his country in the United States Marines. After serving his country, he opened King's Body Shop in Falls Mills, VA. After retiring, he enjoyed spending time on his farm, tending to his cattle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joann McClanahan King and 6 siblings.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister: Sandra King McClanahan of Bluefield, WV; longtime companion: Patsy Williby of Abbs Valley, VA; best friend of 51 years: Walter Scott; step-sisters: Jewell Potts of Georgia and Lois Fortune of Virginia Beach, VA; several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Gene's life will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Dudley Memorial Chapel at 12:00 P.M. with Minister Larry "Buck" Hagerman officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #9696 and the Pocahontas American Legion Post #14.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service.
