OAKVALE Anthony "Tony" Rose, 60, of Pigeon Creek, Oakvale, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his residence.
Born September 18, 1956 in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Henry Jackson Rose and Thelma Weese Rose Hill. He was the former owner and operator of Rose Top Shop for over 25 years and an expert cabinet maker.
Tony loved life, playing his guitar with family, being outdoors hunting, camping and especially working in his flower garden. He was a former member of the Princeton Moose Lodge and a lifelong resident of the area.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, John Hill; brother, Jimmy Rose; and sister, Reatha Dickerson.
He is survived by his fiancee, Leasa Whittaker of Oakvale and their dog "Jack"; one son, David Jackson Rose of Princeton; one daughter, Heather Victoria Rose of Princeton; grandchildren, Shanell Rose, Nikki Wickline, and Samantha Wickline; one god-daughter, Karri M. Neely; five sisters, Rachel Persinger and husband Sunny of Covington, VA, Elsie Caldwell and husband Saford of Blacksburg, VA, Lorene Smith and husband Roger of Lashmeet, Linda Monk and husband Booge of Princeton, Debbie Connor and husband Ray of Princeton; one brother, Kenny Rose and wife Sharon of Princeton; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Todd Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Oakvale cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Neely, Mike Hill, Michael Hammonds, Michael "Pickle" Beckelhimer, Mike Rose, and Kenny Wooldridge.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Sunday.
