Alma June's Story
PRINCETON — Alma June O'Conner Bridges, 83, of Princeton, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at her residence.
Born April 15, 1933 in Glen Morrison, WV, she was the daughter of the late John William Dowell, Sr. and Opal Irene Stewart Dowell.
June was of the Baptist faith, and attended church while her health permitted. For many years, she was a Bookkeeper and Account Supervisor for Clark County Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Hoover O'Conner and Robert Earl Bridges; two brothers, Stewart Thomas Dowell and John William Dowell, Jr.; and one sister, Mary Ann Dowell.
She is survived by three sisters: Shirley Goode, Peggy Tracy, and Mary Frances Harry; One half-brother: Carl Greene; One step-daughter: Anita Miller; Host of nieces and nephews; Her caregivers: Pat Lewis, Daisy Shirley, Tammy Hatcher, and Clara Hicks.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2017, at the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ty Smith officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
