BAPTIST VALLEY, Va. — Alice Marie Hankins, age 84 of Baptist Valley, VA died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Tazewell, VA following a lengthy illness. She was born December 12, 1932 at Baptist Valley, VA and was a daughter of the late Luther M. and Sarah Grace Tabor Hankins. She was a Graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1955 and was a former employee of St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV, where she worked in the Emergency Department until she retired in 1992. Ms. Hankins was a member of Community Heights Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie William Hankins and Ralph Edward Hankins; two sisters, Alma Hankins and Verna Hankins.
Those who survive to cherish her memory include her brother, J. Roger Hankins and wife, Gwen of Baptist Valley, VA; one niece, Laura Hankins Vencill and husband, Robert and their son, Paul Vencill, IV of Belfast, VA; one nephew, Jonathan Hankins and wife, Jessica and their daughter, Hadley of Rockford, MD; her many friends and caregivers at Heritage Hall Health Care also survive.
Graveside Services, for Alice Marie Hankins, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Hankins Family Cemetery on Shannon's Branch Road in Baptist Valley, VA with the Rev. Brian Hoffman and the Rev. Zack Collier officiating.
There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
