Wilma "Grammy Jean" Sargent, 75, of Ashley passed away peacefully late Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 14, 1942 in Richlands, Virginia to the late James Franklin Burnette and Laura Elizabeth (Fields) Burnette.
Grammy Jean was co -founder of Sargent Enterprises, Inc. along with her loving husband Sherman. Throughout their marriage, love grew a bond that they could not have been prouder of that was passed down to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. No greater gift could have been received. This love and gift of pulling together for the greater good of all continues today.
Grammy Jean loved her family tremendously and was dedicated to them. She loved large family gatherings, painting, working puzzles, canning, and crafts. She also enjoyed going to casinos and playing bingo. A people person and mother to all, she truly had an open door policy ... whether for love, guidance, food or shelter.
