William E.'s Story
William E. "Bill" Smith, of Bluefield, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Bill was born July 27, 1947 in Radford, VA; he was the son of the late William C. and Vivian Grose Smith. Bill loved fishing, putting model cars together, painting, and joking with his family and friends. He was a chef while serving in the US Military, the Ramada Inn in Kansas City, the Holiday Inn and Shoneys. He was the owner of Priority Painting located in Princeton, WV. Bill was baptized at the Mayberry Church of God. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Smith and his first wife, Helen Marie Beckner Smith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Roger Jones and wife, Pennie, Roxanne Cox and husband, Lee, Zana Karen Beck, Lisa Woods Ruble and husband, Nick, Anthony Woods and wife, Ramie, Eric Woods and wife, Amy, Roger Woods, Jr, Donna Sue McKinney and husband, Roy, and Gail Marie
Casey; companion, Pamela Woods; special granddaughter, Chloe Ruble; sister, Deborah Smith Saul and husband, Junior; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family and friends; with two special friends, Kent and Brent Harmon.
Services to celebrate the life of William E. "Bill" Smith will be held 2:00PM Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton with Brother Kenneth Abrams officiating.
Following the services Bill will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton. Sons and Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM until time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
