Walter Johnson's Story
Walter Johnson "Walt" Carver, 98, of Bluefield, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017.
Born February 10, 1919 in Clear Fork, VA he was a son of the late Thomas Carver and the late Lucy Kate Carver.
Walt loved to socialize and he never knew a stranger and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Margie Marie Hill Carver; a sister, Loretta Midkiff; two brothers, Clarence Carver and Robert Carver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Linda Lane and husband, Lee of Autryville, NC, daughter, Joyce Carver Giampocaro of Pulaski, VA, son, Walter "Pete" Carver and wife, Donna of Bluefield, VA, son, Thomas Carver and wife, Kathy of Fairdale, WV; two sisters, Pauline Clark of Dinuba, CA and Claudine "Mickey" Lovern and husband, Sam of Rural Retreat, VA; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Walter Johnson "Walt" Carver will be held 2:OOpm Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton with Rev. Lee Lane and Pastor Steven Umburger officiating. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Following the services Walt will be laid to rest, beside his beloved wife, Margie at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
