Virginia C.'s Story
LANCASTER, Pa. ? Virginia C. "Sammy" Boyd, 90, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Bluewell and Bramwell, went to see her Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Mt. Joy Hospice.
Born on October 19, 1926 in McComas, she was a daughter of the late Everett Reeves and Mary Alagria Coburn Cox. She had lived most of her life in Bluewell and the last 8 years in Lancaster, PA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bluewell for many years. In PA, she attended Grace Baptist Church and she also had many friends at the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Fincastle, VA. She took care of many family members, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved watching her great-granddaughters at dance class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Boyd, who served in WWII; and a son, Everette Darrell "Butch" Boyd.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Boyd Lanier and husband Randy, of Landisville, PA; grandchildren, Darrell Boyd of Glouster, NJ, Brian Lanier and Tracy Lanier Helm of Lancaster, PA, Molly Boyd England and Misty Boyd of Bluefield; and her great granddaughters who were her pride and joy, Alexandra and Bailey Helm of Lancaster, PA.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Bluewell with Pastor Jim Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 at the First Baptist Church in Bluewell.
