Vestal Lee's Story
Vestal Lee (Beck) Bishop, 93, of Gilbert, WV, entered into his Heavenly home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from the Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in New Richmond, WV.
Vestal was born January 25, 1925 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late Franklin Dott and Euna Virginia Farley Bishop. He was a retired UMWA coal miner and a loving father and husband.
In addition to his parents, Vestal was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie Cline Bishop; two brothers, Marion Bishop and Franklin Dott Bishop Jr.; and three sisters, Virginia Sue Howell, Wilma Pascone, and Juanita Umbarger.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his daughter, Lee Ann (Glen) Riffe of Hanover, WV; his brother, William (Dee) Bishop of Beckley, WV; his sisters, Emma Lou Butler of Bluefield, VA, Dolly Home of Roanoke, VA and Dorothy (Hevy) Horn of Fayetteville; his sisters-in-law Viola Cline of Greensboro, NC, Marcela Faye Cline of Gilbert and Barbara Bishop of Ikes Fork; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also some very special people who were so close to his heart; his nephew Matt Cline, Andrea Cline and Khan, Marckus and Maqnus Cline all of Apex, NC; he was their "Papa Beck".
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 1 o'clock with Reverend Jackie Lester officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in Iaeger Memorial Cemetery at Roderfield, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
