Vera Cordell, 88, of Princeton died Monday, February 5, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born June 3, 1929 in Caretta, VA she was the daughter of the late Jess Robert Cordell and Susan Emma Herron Cordell.
Vera was a former waitress at the Courthouse Luncheon in Princeton, former receptionist for Dr. Krupey, and worked at several other jobs in this area. She also had her own dry cleaning business in Wilmington, DE. She was a member of the Princeton Apostolic Church. Vera dearly loved her sister and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Claude E. Ayers; and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one sister, Nellie Gonzin of Princeton; several nieces and nephew; and caregiver and special niece, Joanne Gonzin of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Scott Hall and Pastor Chris Richards officiating. Burial will follow at the Hopkins-Gunter Cemetery at Gardner. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
